The 4th is my favorite day of the month.
It means Amanda is another month older.
In my opinion, its like a birthday every month for any Babies’ first year! ha!

Time flies real quick.
I still remember the days when I was blissfully pregnant and fat.…
Now we are happy parents with a baby girl and still fat..

Last month was all about her hands. This month, she discovered her legs.
And her favorite thing to do right now is to raise both her legs high and drop them so they make a thud sound on the bed.
Even in the middle of the night and kicks her blanket off.
I sometimes wonder if her heels hurt.

I sound excited at the beginning of this post.
I am a new Mum with a baby and couldn’t wait for her to grow up.
But a part of me is like a long-time Mum, who wishes that her child wouldn’t grow up too fast.

And I know one day, a video like this, will make my nose tingle.
Its so precious!

P.s. : Photo taken during Amanda’s activity time. With all the stuff around her. Yes. She’s very busy.
She was very busy coo-ing and kicking the air till she saw the camera and decided to be lady like!

P.p.s. : Time to invest in a camcorder? or not? The quality of the video sucks after I edited it with iMovie.

Point of View.

Literally. And Amanda’s!

Now that Amanda’s vision is pretty developed, she has great interest in almost everything around her.

Here are a few of Amanda’s favorites:

Her mobile. The spiral and the brightly colored animals.
And it plays soft calming music too.
She is contented to just look at it even when she is alone!
It makes her really happy!

Mr Giraffe on top of her play gym.
She loves staring at it and its belly. :p

The giraffe is very popular and could be a Lamaze favorite.
Got loads of other Lamaze toys online (pretty cheap!) and a few others to hang above her swing and car seat!
Basically she can stare at these colorful toys for a long time and smile.

Other than her toys, she is also interested in stuff around the house…
Which made nursing very difficult. She is easily distracted by everything around her.
Even the prints on the curtains makes her smile.

Amanda is also attracted by lights from the TV set, she sometimes coos at the TV set as though they were having a conversation.
She too likes the lamp in our living room…

But do you know what really makes her smile even in the middle of the night?

This is her FAVORITE!
Maybe it seems wavy to her!

It can be quite frustrating in middle of the night, when I am trying very hard to nurse her with my eyes half-opened.
And all she wants to do is to smile at it.
No! Make it three! She will smile at all three of it (one-by-one) in the middle of the night.

You know what happens when she smiles.
My heart melts (hence forgetting the frustrating moment minutes ago!) and I smiled with her.
And I will be very awake for the next 2 hours. In Bed.

In bed, I will be thinking about my life. Trying to get back to sleep. Failing. Then I thought about Amanda’s future. Try to sleep. Fail again. And where did I put the damn car keys 3 weeks ago!!!? Ran through all possibilities. Its definitely at home!
Then Dp’s alarm goes off. And I am up for the day!!!

If you take your eyes off Amanda for a few seconds… you will see my dark eye rings and freckles.

Now you can go get back to Oooh-ing over Amanda’s complexion and her drooling.
