B is for bags

Been a long long while since I talk about my obsession on my very own blog.

My first Orange.
Ah… never mind that the ‘Orange’ is in Rubis.

Wearing it on the 1st day of the Rabbit Year.

DSC01510
Something red and with a coat made of rabbit’s fur…Oopps!

Got the coat last year, but have yet to wear it.
The design is quite ‘young’ so I thought I better wear it this year in case I look like I am trying too hard next year.

Apparently, I am not the only with bag obsession in our household.
I have company… (and its difficult to talk about anything without bringing Amanda into the picture…)

The night before, I casually mentioned to Amanda about bringing her very own bag out the next day, instead of the dangerous plastic bag she has been playing for the last 20 minutes.

The next morning and she insisted in bringing her bag out.
She’s finally loving the little pink Naraya bag I got for her in Macau, last June.

Bringing her bag out for the first time.
Bringing her bag out for the first time.

She was happy and grinning all the way to her Grandpa’s.

By evening, she mastered the art of holding an ‘arm candy’…

Mama, am I holding this correctly?

And there were also days she wouldn’t leave home without it.
If we were at the door, she would run back to the living room and picked her bag up.
If she can’t find it, she would knit her brows, and ask ”baooo baooo?” (包包 for bags.)

And the other day, someone wanted to take her bag off her hands for awhile, she held on to her bag very tightly, and was very ‘angry’ with that person.
Haha!

Do you think she will eye on my bag closet soon?

Been wanting to do this post for more than a year!
I have been doing post & photos of mostly Balenciaga bags.

Just before the nanny left, I had a a chance to go through my wardrobe and taking each bag out of their dust bag…
Enjoying things I love to do pre-pregnancy and pre-baby.

I was then reminded of how much and why I Love Chanel.
The bag and the leather are simply *indescribable
(* and because my vocab shrunk with my Mummy-scattered brain.)

Dust bags and boxes.
Chanel...

Long story short.

Got my first Chanel, bottom right, a black medium caviar classic in Dec ’06.
Second Chanel, top right, baby cabas in July ’07.
Everything else in 2008. A year of mad mad Chanel obsession!

My Most Used Chanel – Jumbo caviar. (middle left) and maybe a tie with WOC (bottom left)
My Most Beautiful Chanel – Dark Silver ’08 Reissue. (middle center)
My Most Adventurous Chanel – Buying a non-black bag,purple East-west.

And here’s My Cutest Chanel – Mini Flap!

IMG_3605
Mini to me. Jumbo on Amanda. :p

Daddy can be heard telling Amanda (very proudly) where Mummy’s precious collection are, when giving a (daily) tour of the walk-in wardrobe!
It makes Daddy very happy whenever I tell Amanda, Its going to be ALL YOURS!!!

However, he got smarter when I tried the same trick in Miu Miu Paragon last week.
He asked me WHEN am I going to give the bags to Amanda… and what if they become mouldy?
I tried to brush it off by saying that the bags won’t be mouldy in dry climate Yuncheng…!
And Amanda will definitely lay her hands on the many Classics… when she’s old enough to understand and appreciate.
Besides I wouldn’t want to spoil her, young.

And here’s something else for Amanda…
I found my long-lost Tiffany bracelet, I thought I lost it for the last 12 months.
Was searching high & low and Ashley conveniently forgot to inform me that she found it in Singapore.
It was a birthday pressie from Dp in 2002. And also my first one from him.
He was still schooling in Manchester then… he ordered it from London and mailed it to Singapore.
Along with the bracelet, they mailed him a catalogue of their engagement rings.
He was exclaiming then that they were expensive!
A very meaningful bracelet. As he no longer goes through the hassle to get me presents! Ha!
These days, I get them myself! :p

Playing with Mummy's bracelet...
Reaching out…

Meanwhile, this is how Amanda will be playing with the bracelet until she’s big and tall enough to wear it.

Ps: Been working on this post for many days. Had to find time to do it during Amanda’s nap!

My Veneta…

December 8, 2009

in Her Life,Her Shopping

Purseblog is doing Twelve days of Bottega Veneta…
And I thought about my one (and only?) Bottega Veneta.

Its one of my favourites and I didn’t even give you guys a proper introduction?

Meet my Veneta…

Almature BV

The style, Veneta, in a Hawaii-exclusive metallic color, Almature.
Got it in Ala Moana center, Honolulu from our US holiday last August.
1 of the 11 bags I lugged back to China from US! 1 of the 5 for myself.

I was severely sunburnt that day and had a hard time deciding between the colors, ebano and almature.
I don’t have a bag in brown and I love metallics… …
Then a sale assistant, a guy, walked passed me and whispered, Take the Metallic
Glad that I took his advice. And believe that he is the very popular SA in the BV forum.

The woven leather gets really soft over time. Its super light and super travel-friendly!
The size is good for me to stuff a long wallet, camera, phone and cardigan.
Its easy and comfortable to carry.
I used it for the rest of my US trip the day after I got the bag.

San Francisco

The metallic color is very unique and very beautiful.
I hardly get bag compliments here in Yuncheng. But I got one with this bag.

Because most people here only recognize the famous LV monogram.
I know someone who actually think that “real” LVs are sold here in a fashion market for around 300rmb.
And they don’t even resemble the real thing.
She was shocked to know that the A-grade cost 3 times more and probably flipped when she heard about the price of the real McCoy.

Back to my BV bag compliment.
It was from a cashier in a fruit supermarket here.

Her : Your bag is very nice!
Me : *smiles* Thanks!
Her : The woven leather is exquisite. Is this real leather?
Me : Yes.
Her : It must be very expensive! Is it?
Me : *smiles* *Thinking to myself, Wow!*

Before I can return a compliment about her good taste… …
Her : I am guessing that it must be around 500-600rmb, right?
Me : … Hmmz… Yes. About there…
Her: (To her colleague) See! I am right. Its such a nice bag! Leather so soft!

BV leather.

Oh Well, she certainly knows how to appreciate a really soft leather when she sees one.

My very LAST Balenciaga…

09 F/W Galet Silver Giant Hardware City
Galet City from 09 F/W.
With a Week 39 + 4 day Bump!

My very LAST Balenciaga Before the arrival of Lil’ judebabe…

A bag ban that is not hard to keep… Considering that I am just 1 days away from my expected due date!
Hee!

The lovely shade is hard to capture!!!

Galet under strong natural light.Galet under weak natural light.
Strong natural light vs. Weak natural light.

Been lusting for a cool shade of grey bag.
I love the Silver giant hardware on the bag… adds more Bling and brings out the cool shade.

There’s something about Balenciaga… I keep coming back for MORE!!!
It all started innocently with this

Collection as at Aug 09 (Natural Light)
1st Row: 09 S/S Framboise RH city, 08 F/W Black GGH PT and 06 F/W Navy City.
2nd Row: 08 F/W Ruby First, 08 F/W Sapphire Twiggy and 07 S/S Naturel City.

And I am a little more adventurous with Balenciaga colors. I think.

Collection as at Aug 09

Ps: BBags were slouchin’ and loungin’ on our sofa for days after their photo shoot.

Our entrance to the ceremony

The first words that came out from Dp’s mouth this morning were “Jie-fen
(his imitation of southern counterparts who can’t pronounce 结婚 “jie-hun” correctly.)
I went, Huh?
He then made use opportunity to accuse me of being heartless!

Of course, I remembered.
I came up with this list, days ago.

There is always so much to discover each year, about your funny side.

I love you for

- pretending to scream in pain whenever the 70+++ kg Me sits on your thighs… Or was it for real?

- giving in to my pregnancy hormones. A term that I did not expect you know but you did coz you learnt it from Season 3 of Dexter.

- assuring me that I am not FAT but just pregnant… sometimes even before I ask, Am I fat?

- giving me the disapproving look when I try to do something silly that will hurt me and lil’ judebabe, like wearing heels around the house, getting a acrylic nail pedicure and wearing something too tight around the waist.

- touching my belly as you try to fall asleep every night.

- hating me when I pressed your hand / fingers hard against my belly to feel lil’ judebabe… you were so scared that you were going to crush her.

- talking to my belly which i always thought you will feel too silly & embarrassed to.

- telling her that you love lil’ judebabe but will always love her Mommy more.
(Which was cute and pretty mean at the same time!)

- thinking that lil’ judebabe is smart, because you are.

- thinking that lil’ judebabe is going to be smart just because she keeps moving around in my belly.
*rolls eyes*

- noticing and compliment my new tops and dresses, asking me if they were maternity.

- admitting that you are incapable of making decisions whenever I’m around.

- kissing me on demand!!! (My fave!)

- getting me this bag, even when you didn’t believe that a limited edition bag can be found months after its release, in a small Sanya LV boutique.
Well, I couldn’t believe my luck either.

Dp with Sprouse Rose Neverfull.

- for offering to carry my often-heavy bags… and being a ‘natural’ with my bags. (My 2nd fave!)
You love to be complimented when carrying my bags and admitted that this bag looks great with your summer outfits.

- cracking me up… with your sometimes-vanity.

Happy 3rd Wedding Anniversary!!!

Good Boy!

February 25, 2009

in Her Life,Her Shopping

Dp welcomed me home with a very clean bedroom.
He vacuumed the room and had everything neatly placed.
I was kinda expecting to return to a messy bedroom.

He too washed my bath towel.
Though I did remind him to… many times.
But it was nice to of him to wash the towel a day before I returned.
He placed it near the heater making sure its really dry and warm when I return.

Another of my least favourite part about returning to Yuncheng, was the overflowing laundry basket!!!
I had do laundry for days whenever I am away from Yuncheng for weeks.
But this time, it was a half-filled.
I am happy even when I realized that the laundry he did were only his own stuff and sent only his clothes (none of mine) to the dry cleaners.

Good job.

Absence make the hearts grow fonder and in Dp’s case… A better hardworking Man too.

And here’s what I got for myself in Singapore, “from” Dp.
Sprouse Graffiti.
