Thumb up!

Thumb up!, originally uploaded by judebabe.

Amanda had a cut on her thumb from a sharp edge of a table when we were out.

There was a lot of blood and she cried as she probably has never bled or seen so much blood before.

For the last two days, whether she was walking, playing with toys, with my iPhone, watching TV, eating or asleep.
Her thumb was always up.

She was also very protective and careful about keeping her left hand dry and keeping the bandage on.

This, however did not stop her from eating her favorite peanuts, I saw her crushing her a peanut with only her right hand.
It also puzzles me why she loves nuts and pumpkin seeds so much.

Seeing how much she can do with her right hand, she definitely not left-handed like me.

Andrew’s ORD.

March 21, 2012

in Her Life

Two days before we returned to China last November, we all attended Andrew’s Passing out parade.
I was quite sure that it meant a lot to Andrew and so we decided to stay a few days longer for the parade.
This passing out parade, marks the end of his 2 years of national service.

The evening wasn’t too bad. It wasn’t too hot with occasional breeze.
I was expecting to be sweaty, with an fidgety girl and buzzing mosquitoes. :p

And just when Amanda started to be impatient, she was greeted by the men marching into the parade square and giving commands for the rest to join in.

Of course, Amanda was a lot more impressed by the stars of the evening, the smart men in white Number One (wonder I got the many terms right?).
Because I told her, Kaofu is one of them.

We later joined kaofu on the parade square.
Took Amanda a while to warm up, as she was very careful around Kaofu’s rifle.

I think everyone is somewhat relieved that National Service is over, but I guess they will all be missing their life in the Army.

We too took a family portrait a few days before the parade.

I don’t know why my eyes looked half-opened in all the photos taken at the studio.

Picking strawberries.

Picking strawberries., originally uploaded by judebabe.

Last Sunday, we brought Amanda to pick strawberries.

She was on a mission to pick red and pretty (decently shaped) strawberries.
And then quickly stuffed freshly picked 奶油草莓 into her mouth.

She certainly enjoyed picking and eating them.

An old and new photo.

An old and new photo.

Old photo of me and Mum. New Photo of Amanda and me.
Mum obviously looked pissed.

MY old photo was taken in Singapore Botanic Garden, and Amanda’s was when we were at Sanya, Hainan.

And in the photo, we should be around the same age, or I could be younger.

See any resemblance? Yes? No?

We had a relaxing holiday early March, that only involved only an hour of shopping and lots of rest.
We had enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay for another 2 nights, and moved to another resort.

A cooperative Amanda poses for the camera, while waiting for our rooms to be ready.

There were also lots of play time for Amanda, swimming, playing with sand and cartoon channel on TV in the hotel.
Which were what she wanted all day long.

And we grateful for the direct flight from Yuncheng to Sanya, it saved us a lot of trouble.
Last year, we had to drive 3 hours to Xi’an for direct flight, and wait for hours in transit at the airport, coming Home.

Pink Trunki first trip.

The Trunki was quite a good thing to keep Amanda occupied while waiting for Daddy to pick up our luggage at the busy Sanya Airport.
But don’t go too fast… I once found Amanda sitting on the ground when I turned back to check on her. Hee!

Excited. And couldn’t wait to change into her swimsuit.

In her neon pink swimsuit.

When she isn’t swimming in the ‘blue pool’, her way of saying she doesn’t want to step into the sea, she would be playing with seashells and sand.

~La la lalalala… sing a happy song… ~

Also, its difficult to get her out of the pool, especially when there’s a pool bar, where you can sit half submerged in the pool, and snack on fries and juice.
She would be crying and made an unsuccessful attempt to jump into the pool with her float

Trying to get Daddy to swim with her.

We tried to get her to sit by the pool and relax. So that we can all rest a little and get out of the Sun!

Looking like a boy… in pink.

Amanda picked this neon pink t-shirt of Cooke Monster skateboarding herself, in the boys section of H&M.

A blur family photo.

Previous attempts failed with camera, as I look too fat in my swimsuit Amanda refused to cooperate.

And here, a sunset dinner by the sea, the night before we return.

Amanda loves Sanya and swimming, her eyes lights up from hearing these words.
