Balala…

in Her Life

These days, Amanda is obsessed with 巴啦啦小摩仙, a Chinese children TV series, and chinese version of a Japan animation.
And I thought that girls don’t go through this phase.

Anyway, Amanda transforms herself into 巴啦啦摩仙, many times a day, by turning in circles with her magic wand, she seriously thinks she has magic powers.

Now that she is getting eloquent, we had quite an argument,
about how she is NOT a 巴啦啦摩仙,and she do not have magic powers.
And she should stay seated in her car seat, so that the police doesn’t stop us, (not a requirement here, not the police’s concern.)
She however, thinks she can fight off policeman, witches and bad guys with a wave of her wand.

Dp thinks its getting out of hand, but she is so so cute with her transformation, that I caved in, and she does it better each time, she observes and perfect her movements from the show.
While I indulge her in magic wands and “transformation” kits, Daddy turns and twirls with her.

When Grandpa and relatives see her, they think her actions reminds them of her cousin.
Who btw, is ULTRAMAN.

Ps: Amanda’s uncle Andrew was once very much into Power Rangers.

La Chic.

in Her Life

I must have made the most irritating “Oooooh! Look at that cute little girl…” a thousand times when we were traveling in Europe last year.

Its hard not to display any excessive sentiments.
Because the little girls are all looking very chic in their winter wear. In their wool jacket, skinny jeans / leggging and boots.
The cute ones, were in dresses, leggings and flats.
Babies / toddlers here in Yuncheng, are bundled in handmade cotton outfits, some of the really thick outfits can stand on their own.

Anyway, I got Amanda a wool pea coat last year, but they were not warm enough and we haven’t got much chance to wear it, since we were never around to wear it in late Autumn or early Spring.
This year, I couldn’t resist and got her another navy pea coat.
(It was the last piece, and was on SALE!)

So when the Sun is out, and the weather is warm, Amanda would wear her pea coat and her boots. She would sometimes insist that I wear mine too, so that we can dress a like.
She too wants to be wear jeans (with pockets, not jeggings) like Daddy and me.

Mama, what did you say? What Chick?

Standing still, for me to take a close up, of her hair.
The nanny is good in tying them up.

When it comes to playing with kids, I have to admit, that Dp has a lot more patience than me.
I think I am better with babies.

爸爸,我们比赛吧

Dp plays hide and seek, kicking balls, run around the house and when he is in a really good mood, he reads to Amanda.
They pretend to row boat with Amanda’s toy broom and mop (which are her current favorite toys), or hunts for her small toys with it around the house.

Housework.
Looking chic still, while doing housework.

Now, if only she can get her Daddy to do some real housework while playing.

My job.

in Her Life

This morning, I felt like I have the best job in the world.
And by late afternoon, I felt like I had the worst and most unappreciated job.

I need deal with Amanda and her tantrums and mischief positively.
Besides It’s impossible to get 2.5 year old (and the 33 year old) to listen or do to anything I say.
*takes deep breaths!*

The nanny took past 1 week off and probably for another week. So its just Amanda and me at Home.
I have been managing Amanda and daily housework and dinner for the past few days.
I wash, clean and cook.
I know it sounds normal for most SAHMs, but I have not been doing these on a regular basis, so it can rather fulfilling and frustrating some times.
Been also trying and perfecting dishes, 西红炒柿鸡蛋,西红柿鸡蛋汤,土豆丝 and other dishes that I had, only after I came to China.
Very common dishes here.

When she isn’t naughty, she does the sweetest thing like, turning off her favorite Dora dvd when I told her to, if she wants to join me and sit on my thighs at my desk. So that we can cuddle while I surf the net.

Anyway, this is a picture of me catching up with 2 shows and window-shopping online, after Amanda bedtime.
Both shows are what I want to watch but always pass them over for something else. So I am just screening through them.
The thing about Singapore drama show, I can simply just listen and know which actor / character is talking, without needing to keep looking at the screen.
Good for multi-tasking!

PS: Amanda had her first slice of orange yesterday. I have not been giving it to her coz I was afraid of cough and phelgm.
When I was a kid, I used to cough badly when I had some or too much!

A winter Saturday Morning.

in Her Life

After a frosty week, we had a lovely sunny winter weather today.

After watching the goose in our estate, (Yup! – We have dogs, goose and a few chickens in our estate.), we joined our friends at the amusement park today.

Amanda was thrilled be riding the Train and other rides.
She went on a few rounds on the train.

I don’t think I will be surprised if she thought that she was on a real train, afterall I think this train is more fun than the actual ones.

The Busy Girl.

Here’s Amanda lining her rides.

From Tricycle, bicycles, scooters, her trunki luggage to her doll’s stroller.
Yes. Its a lot of hard work, thus the safety helmet. Hee!

Not in the picture are two of her rechargeable cars, where she could ride in them. and travel at low speed.
Unlike on her bicycles, she isn’t too good with directions in her car yet.
But she did say she can’t drive now, but she will when she is older. I am still young! She tells me.

And well, it seems like boys are not the only ones interested in wheels.
I am too. :p

Another of her busy in an apron.
She was trying to cook us her specialty dark sauce rice!

I am glad that the apron and the imaginary pots and pans kept her busy for awhile at her Grandpa’s.
And I am too looking forward to warm weather, where she could take her rides outdoor, instead of fussing-turn-tantrum at home.
Basically messing with me and my patience.
She doesn’t want to get out of the house, coz she runs around when i try to dress her, but I think she has the tantrums cause she’s bored at home.
