Gong Gong & Por Por.
Amanda love (and can be soothed by) Ah-Gong. Bullies Ah-Por.

With Yeeeee-ma.

Same hairstyle
Daddy and Kao-fu…
All three with the same hair style. Or the lack of proper hair style.

No pix of me. Coz I somehow ballooned into this in the last one week…

Me.

Every mirror I look into, I see a big, round face and a few chins.
And ’0′ confidence. Shocking!

I didn’t feel so awful about myself before returning to Singapore.
Of course, trying to squeeze myself into dresses that’s too small in ‘L’, is also very discouraging.

Then again, I feel a little better about myself, when I look at Amanda.
She greets me in the morning with eyes that say: I’m looking at the most beautiful person in the world.
Erm… I think she meant that lah! Ha!

Anyway, Amanda’s daddy has returned Home.
Maybe Mum exagerated, but she claimed that Dp’s eyes were red when he headed for departure. (The case whenever he leaves Singapore without me.)
He must have missed Amanda and me already!
He extended his stay in Singapore, he can’t stay forever and needs to return to Yuncheng. There are people waiting for him to make decisions and start on the project.
Maybe when his work is done, he would have more time for holidays.

He is also pretty excited about the opening of the 2nd IR.
We went to RW casino last week. Too many people. Too little tables.
We wanted to play poker pretty badly but there weren’t any seats. hmmph!!!
I left Dp at the casino to go shopping with Ashley.
Meanwhile, Amanda was crying for me at home.
I rushed home to find Mum crying. She was upset and felt helpless when Amanda was crying very loudly amd pitifully for me. And apparently only my Dad could calm her.

Hey... fishy fishy fishy...
Hey… Fishy fishy fishy!!!

Anyway, I am sure amanda would grow to love her Grandma as much. HeeHee!
She spoils her with lots of grandmother-ly Love!

Very hot.
The chubby ones in our family of 3… *a-hem* with that extra layer, we are feeling extremely HOT!

I love RED!!!
I LOVE RED! and lovin’ the Attention too!

Ashley being the only one in my family, who have not seen Amanda IRL… requested to be the first one to carry Amanda at Singapore’s airport, a week before our return!
And hoping to give Amanda a good first impression, she wore RED! :p

Amanda was hot and bothered while we were having dinner, even with AC at the mall.
She was very excited when we took off her clothes once we were HOME! And in her Mummy’s HOME for the very first time!

Happy... and with my new bff... Sophie
EXCITED! and with my new bff, Sophie la Girafe

And she’s super YUMMY!

*drools*
*drools*

I was pretty worried about Amanda being constipated… with her ‘toilet bowls’ all in China.
but Hey! We found replacement in Singapore.

My new stroller...

Her new stroller, Si. WE, Amanda and us, LOVE IT!
We found her Maclaren XLR stoller too heavy and bulky to be brought over.
And the new stroller seems to be a better choice for travelling.
This is actually lighter and compact than the Maclaren and Amanda seems really comfortable in it.
So much so that she took a dump, in less than a few hours in it. When we have been trying to get her to do-her-business for days.
She now take a dump a day in it. Which is great! Except when we are out!!!

Can you tell that Amanda is having lots of FUN!!!?
So much so that Dp delayed his return to China!

More updates again!
We have been super busy getting out and around, every day!!!

Amanda loves to purse her upper lips
Stick-tongue-out is sooo yesterday.
I am now into pursing my lips! My upper lip.

While waiting for more relatives to arrive, mother and daughter engage in their favorite pastime.
Taking self-portraits.

While waiting for more relatives to arrive...

Making our way to Guangzhou tomorrow.
And after spending a night in Guangzhou, we will be in Singapore.

Gotta go! Last minute packing!
Been too busy with the CNY celebrations lately…

Not like I have summer clothes to fit into anyway… I am too fat! :(

in Her Baby,Her Life

Its Amanda first lunar new year!
And guess what she did with her first ang bao from papa n mama?
She wanted to Eat it!!!

Anyway, a brief report on our life-without-the-nanny so far.

The house is in a mess.
There’s toys, diapers, bottles, clothes and Amanda’s stuff all over the house.

We have been out almost everyday. And may have upset Amanda’s schedule a little.
But guess what, the little one takes catnaps whenever possible. And she wriggles herself to a comfortable position and sleeps whenever we are in the car.
Amanda loves hanging out with us… I think. And has kind of gotten over her “strangers anxiety” and loud noises.
She was least fussy with the loud music and crooning on RockBand. It would have overstimulated her and made her cry for what-feels-like-hours, weeks ago.

I have learned that I can get a lot of help with Amanda by bringing her to relatives’ homes.
Ha! They are more than happy to carry and entertains Amanda. It helps a lot when Amanda is now at her very sociable stage!

And I think I totally deserve a pat on my shoulder for this.
You see, Amanda hasn’t been ergh-ergh-ing for days.
And I suspected that it could have been too many people have been carrying her that she hasn’t got time to ‘sit-down’, relax and do-her-business.
And so I decided to put her into her favorite swing, aka Amanda’s toilet bowl.
Minutes later, we could smell her crap.
Smelly but it made me and of coz, Amanda very happy. Ha!

I have been thinking for the longest time if I should post this sentence… in case I jinx it.
But well, we are doing fine. *fingers crossed* *toes crossed*
Tired but very happy!

Happy Lunar NEW YEAR!!!

Gotta go wake the babies and get ready to go 拜年!

Ps: Its snowing!

The baby honeymoon is over.

With warning of yet another heavy snowfall, the nanny decided to leave 2 days earlier.
And she just left. She was tearing.
Especially when Amanda gave her the look, Where are you going? Are you leaving!?

The nanny has been taking good care of the 3 of us!
Even when her job was supposedly to be just taking care of Amanda and during the confinement period.
A confinement nanny’s salary is twice of a normal nanny.

We extended her stay till CNY…
And will be engaging the help of another nanny when I return from my one month stay in SG.

We (Nanny & I, maybe Amanda) were all pretty sad.
But Dp says, its about time to start our new life.

So wish us luck.

Ps: May not be able to blog as much. :p

Brought Amanda to swim last week, at a swimming center for babies.
I am late in introducing this to her. As babies younger than her, have already been there for months.

Being in the “stranger anxiety” stage, you can pretty much expect Amanda to … CRY!!!
And maybe she feels insecure to be naked in front of strangers. hee!

What's going on?
Eh!!! What are you doing!!!???

Waaaaaaaaaaa.....
Waaaaaaaaaa…..

This taste funny!
Bleh! This taste funny! *sob sob*

When in the tub, it took her sometime to get used to it.
We held her hand in the tub to give her some assurance and I was also singing… obviously she doesn’t care if I am out of tune – or not.
But loves to hear me sing. It calms her almost immediately.

Mummy....I'm scaredddddd.....
Mummy….I’m scaredddddd…..

We let go of her hands… as soon as she gets used to the water…

I am getting better at this.
Hey! I am getting better at this.

And then she lifted her butt and started to swim in the water…
Check out her legs… and the distance moved in the small tub! :p

breast stroke -1

breast stroke -2

And those are beads of sweat on her face…

Sweating... Hot hot hot!
Its getting hot in here.

Good workout huh?

Amanda has been there twice.
And she is in the tub for 10-15 minutes each time.
They would take her height and weight, start with some warm-up before putting her in the tub. Followed by a bath and lastly, a massage. (All for 48rmb.)
During her last session… she was either tired or that relaxed.
She rested her head on the bed when put on her tummy instead of lifting her head like she normally does.

I enjoyed going there too.
Even though it can take up to 90 minutes each time. Which includes the drive, parking problem and queues at the swimming center.
The weather has been great last week. We can get out together with Amanda and do things that she seems to enjoy.
The only places we could bring her out to now are just the boring supermarket, restaurants and relative’s / friend’s home.
We do have to worry with the sometimes harsh weather. Its comfortably warm and with high level of humidity in the swimming center.

There, I would also get to meet other babies and mummies.
Babies that are younger, thought about Amanda when she was young as them.
Babies that are older, trying to picture Amanda when she’s as old as them.
And as for the Mummies… I feel better about myself, instantly.
We have the same bloat from the breastfeeding… (I assume.)

Here’s a short video of Amanda in the tub.

I have a longer video.
But a sleepy baby was crying very loudly, in the next tub, throughout the video.
And towards the end of this video, Amanda had hiccups. She gets them a lot.

Going again tomorrow. Dp’s first time.
His CNY holidays starts tomorrow. About time, for a break.
Since he started on his new job, he has too much on his mind.
Frankly, I am worried about him when I stay in Singapore for a month.
